Shadow Moon has just discovered the truth about her Cutie mark ... its actually related to the family blood-line, the Dhelal clan (Dhelal means Shadows in Arabic) ... the Cutie Mark is a shape of the shadow of a pony

the clan are born fighters, killers, assassins, lewd seductress (female ponies) and sadistic ... but only turn to the dark side when needed,,, other than that, the clan tend to be harmless to other ponies and clans (sometimes hehe) ..... the Dhelal clan is famous for having dark mane and for the scary looking eyes, each color represent the super powers that the pony contain .... King Sombra is a far relative of Shadow Moon (note that Sombra means Shadow in Spanish)
